Montgomery County police arrested a Montgomery Village man on Thursday and charged him with killing his wife.
Jean Jocelin Pierre, 46, of the 20100 block of Rothbury Lane made statements upon being arrested that he had killed his wife, Nerlande Foreste, according to a police press release. He was charged with first-degree murder and was being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center.
Police said Pierre told them on Saturday that his wife was missing. After investigating, police found inconsistencies in Pierre’s account that led detectives to believe Pierre was involved in his wife’s disappearance.
Police then executed a search warrant at Pierre’s home Thursday and recovered evidence that showed Pierre’s initial statement about his wife’s disappearance was not accurate.
Police are asking anyone with information to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
There was no attorney information for Pierre in online court records on Thursday.
