Patients transferred to new Adventist HealthCare Hospital
More than 100 patients were transferred over the weekend from Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park to Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center about 6 miles north in Silver Spring.
The new $400 million state of the art facility is equipped with 180 private rooms. It officially opened for business at 7 a.m. on Sunday. [WTOP]
Man charged with acting as construction contractor without a license
Montgomery County’s Office of Consumer Protection recently charged 52-year-old Dulal Chowdury with acting as a contractor without a license after offering to build a second story on a Silver Spring home, then abandoning the project. [WJLA]
Franchot considering run for governor
Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot said he is “seriously considering” a run to succeed two-term Republican Gov. Larry Hogan.
He has $1 million in campaign funds in the bank and job approval ratings above 70 percent from fellow Democrats, according to a Gonzales Research poll that his campaign commissioned in May and publicly distributed. [Washington Post]
