Clarksburg man jailed for threats against Hispanic family

Eric Lin, 35, of Clarksburg, was arrested in Seattle on Friday after the FBI said he made a series of threats against Hispanic women in Miami through Facebook. Lin allegedly sent the messages between May and August, threatening a woman and her family. He mentioned support for Adolf Hitler and called for the extermination of Spanish-speaking people.  [Baltimore Sun]

Judge sets new status hearing for county woman charged with murder

A county Circuit Court judge set a status hearing for February in the case of Catherine Hoggle, accused of murdering her two children in 2014. Arguments regarding Hoggle’s mental capabilities have gone on for nearly five years as the court has struggled to rule whether she’s fit to stand trial.  [Fox 5]

Man attacked by a dozen gang members in Silver Spring

Charging documents filed in July detail an incident in December in which a young man was beaten up by around 12 people who identified themselves of members of the gang MS-13. The case was filed as part of the arrest of Carlos Sorto-Baires, 18, on kidnapping, first-degree assault and false imprisonment charges.  [ABC 7]
