Mother accused of murdering two of her children found mentally unfit

Following a psychological evaluation, Catherine Hoggle, a Montgomery County woman accused of murdering two of her children in 2014, was found last week to be mentally unfit. The mental health evaluation, the second one conducted on Hoggle, was requested by prosecutors. Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy has asked for a third evaluation of Hoggle and a competency hearing in December [Washington Post].

Oregon company files $2.6M claim in Montgomery County against former NFL player

Oregon-based NV Partners LLC alleges that former NFL player Michael Vick owes a series of payments totaling $2.6 million. The claim has been filed in Montgomery County Circuit Court, because it was the location of a third party that brought Vick and the company together [Washington Post].

County fair opens

The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair opened Friday for its 71st annual season. More than 250,000 people attend over the course of nine days in August [WJLA].
