30 Restaurants Participating in Bethesda Magazine Restaurant Week

The summer edition of Bethesda Magazine Restaurant Week kicks off on Friday, with 30 local restaurants offering prix fixe menus.

Jaleo Bethesda, Silver and Del Frisco’s Grille are among the many dining establishments offering lunch and dinner deals. A handful of restaurants, including Barrel & Crow, Terrain Café and Stella Barra Pizzeria, will have brunch offerings.

Customers can take a photo while eating at one of the participating restaurants and share it on Instagram for an opportunity to win a gift card from one of the 30 establishments. Include #BmagRW in the caption of your photo and tag @BethesdaMag in the photo.

The celebration runs from Aug. 9 to 18.

Several county restaurants participating in Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week

Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) will have its own summer restaurant week Aug. 12 to 18.

Of the 250 participating restaurants across the Washington region, 17 are in Montgomery County.

Jaleo Bethesda, Morton’s The Steakhouse and Ruth’s Chris Steak House are among the local restaurants also taking part in RAMW’s celebration.

Participating restaurants will have prix fixe lunch options for $22 and dinner for $35, with some offering a $22 brunch option.

Locavino opening in mid-August

Wine café Locavino will have a soft opening on Aug. 16 before welcoming all customers at a grand opening the weekend of Aug. 17-18.

The Silver Spring restaurant will take over the former Adega Wine Cellars & Café space and is owned by a pair of former Adega employees, Jarrod Jabre and Justin Wallace.

Adega spent 14 years at 8519 Fenton St. Jabre has said Locavino will have many similarities to its predecessor.

Jabre and Wallace announced the opening plans on their Kickstarter fundraising page, inviting donors to the Aug. 16 opening prior to the grand celebration that weekend. The online campaign raised $15,500 for the owners.

Locavino will have the capacity for more than 200 wines, with a menu of light to medium fare, including fresh salads, wraps and soups.

Silver Diner to open in Gaithersburg in late-August

American family restaurant Silver Diner will open its second location in Montgomery County at the end of August — at Rio shopping center in Gaithersburg.

The restaurant will open with full service of breakfast, lunch and dinner on Aug. 26. Silver Diner will have an invite-only preview event on Aug. 16.

The Gaithersburg restaurant will join the original Silver Diner in Rockville as the two Montgomery County locations. The Gaithersburg restaurant will be chain’s 15th nationwide.
