Some Montgomery County schools are offering only advanced-level classes in certain subjects.
In some high schools, standard classes in health, social studies, science or English have disappeared.
The idea of honors for all, however, is sparking debate. Some parents are asking how students of varied interests and academic readiness can all be suited for a more rigorous class, or why students don’t have a choice in classes they take. [Washington Post]

Rockville woman spearheads efforts for major changes at busy intersection
A Rockville woman was behind an effort to install “wrong way” signs and new reflective poles at the intersection of Viers Mill Road and Rockville Pike.
The Maryland State Highway Administration made the changes after Liz Iskow petitioned officials to make the intersection safer. She drove onto the wrong side of the divided highway last November, but was stopped by police. [WUSA9]
