Montgomery firefighter used MMA training to thwart ambulance heist
A Montgomery County firefighter says he used his mixed martial arts training to stop a carjacking suspect from stealing an ambulance at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park.
Diego Peclat has been a local firefighter and medic for three years.
He sustained minor injuries in a struggle with the suspect, but was treated and released from the hospital the same day. [WJLA]
Workspace company expanding to Bethesda
Launch Workplaces is expanding to Bethesda. The company helps startup businesses by providing temporary office space and “co-working space.”
The workspace program partnered with over 500 businesses so far. The new Bethesda location will be on Wisconsin Avenue. Other locations are in Gaithersburg, Towson, Rockville, Edgewater and Silver Spring. [DMV]
I-270 traffic halted after one-vehicle crash
Interstate 270 was closed in both directions for about an hour Monday afternoon after a crash involving an overturned dump truck, police said. One person was injured. [Washington Post]
