Rockville developer brings Sephora to Washington Square
Rockville-based private real estate developer Lerner Enterprises announced that personal care and beauty store Sephora will come to Washington Square this fall.
Sephora will lease a 6,000-square-foot space in the 12-story office building.
“Sephora is a visionary beauty-retail concept, and will be an exceptional complement to the retail collection at Washington Square,” Lerner Enterprises Managing Principal Owner Mark D. Lerner said in a statement.
The store will be Sephora’s seventh location in the Washington region.
Washington Square is co-developed project from Lerner Enterprises and The Tower Companies, also based in Rockville.
County handing out mini grants to food security groups
Local organizations involved with food capacity and infrastructure are encouraged to apply for a Montgomery County grant program offering assistance to food security groups.
Funding for mini grants between $2,000 and $10,000 is included in the county’s Department of Health and Human Services Fiscal Year 2020 budget.
Grants will be given out through Manna Food Center’s Community Food Rescue, a network of businesses and hunger relief organizations.
Funding can be used for improving direct service or expanding efforts to help vulnerable populations, according to a county news release. Past grants have allowed organizations to grow their staffs, improve distribution with additional trucks and freezers, and share resources with similar groups.
“The County’s vision for food security is a community where all residents have access to safe, sufficient, nutritious food,” the release read.
The online application closes Sept. 3.
Signs By Tomorrow becomes Image360
Kensington sign company Signs By Tomorrow DC-Silver Spring has rebranded itself as Image360 DC-Silver Spring, including a store remodel and improved customer service.
The company provides graphic solutions for businesses and groups in the area. The rebrand is part of a larger update by Sign & Graphics Operations LLC, Image360 DC-Silver Spring’s franchisor.
“This only reaffirms our commitment to Silver Spring, our neighbors and the customers we serve,” Image360 DC-Silver Spring owner Andrews Akers said in a statement. “We look forward to deepening our client relationships while providing more companies in the region with our varied products and state-of-the-art services.”
Akers held an executive role with Image360 for more than two decades before taking over the Kensington location.
The Signs by Tomorrow shop in Bethesda has also been renamed and is now known as Image360 Bethesda.
