County Council member pursuing safety upgrades at fatal crash site

Following the death of 17-year-old bicyclist Jacob Cassell along Old Georgetown Road earlier this week, Montgomery County Council member Hans Riemer wants local and state officials to discuss safety improvements for the Bethesda roadway. “We have so many problem areas, honestly, in the county, all over the county, but I think that this one clearly needs to get to the top of the list,” Riemer said. Old Georgetown Road is state-run, so any changes would be up to the Maryland State Highway Administration.  [WTOP]
