Vietnamese deli in Silver Spring departs
Dip N Rolls, a deli and café featuring Vietnamese cuisine, closed on Wednesday after nearly three years on Colesville Road in Silver Spring.
Owner Lan Pham announced in a letter posted on the deli’s front door that it would close on July 31, so she could spend more time with her daughter and grandchildren.
“It was hard work, but worth every second because I enjoyed it,” Pham wrote. “I know how to work hard but I don’t know how to say goodbye to all of you.”
The deli had breakfast and lunch, with an assortment of Vietnamese items such as banh mi sandwiches and spring rolls. The deli’s name comes from Pham’s childhood nickname, “Roll,” a reference to her build.
Celebrity chef contributes to Dog Haus promotion
The latest introduction to Dog Haus’ 2019 No Kid Hungry Chef Collaboration Series is Los Angeles-based Chef Chris Oh, winner of Food Network’s “Cutthroat Kitchen” and Esquire’s “Knife Fight.”
“Chef Oh is a culinary bad ass with numerous accolades under his belt, not to mention the fact that he is one of today’s emerging TV personalities,” Dog Haus Co-Founder Hagop Giragossian said in a statement.
Dog Haus has a location in Bethesda and another coming to Gaithersburg.
Oh has created Korean Fried Chicken Wings for the promotion, which donates $1 to the charity No Kid Hungry for every featured item sold.
“I always enjoy collaborating with Dog Haus because our visions align, both with food and execution,” Oh said in a statement.
