Kensington Fitness Festival-Sunday-Spirit Club Fitness Center, Kensington

The Spirit Club Fitness Center will host an event benefiting the Spirit Club Foundation, a nonprofit working to ensure people with disabilities get adequate exercise and nutrition. Residents can enjoy free refreshments, fitness activities, and health and wellness demonstrations. The festival runs 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Yappy Hour-Sunday-Republic

Seafood restaurant Republic in Takoma Park welcomes dogs and their owners to Yappy Hour, which occurs the last Sunday of every month through October. Treats are available for the canines, plus food and drink specials for the customers. The event is put on by pet store the Big Bad Woof and runs 3 to 5 p.m.

Farm Tour & Harvest Sale-Saturday and Sunday-Various locations

Montgomery County is hosting its 30th annual Farm Tour & Harvest Sale across the Maryland Agricultural Reserve, which is 93,000 acres of protected farmland. Dozens of farms, wineries and breweries will participate in the event. Tusculum Farm in Laytonsville will open its property for live music, games and barbecue. Participating entities can be found here.

Cooking with Cannabis-Saturday-Takoma Wellness Education Center

The Takoma Wellness Center is offering a free class teaching residents how to infuse cannabis into summertime recipes. The event is from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
