Fat Fingers opens in Silver Spring
American restaurant Fat Fingers debuted in Silver Spring last week, taking over the former Paisano’s Pizza space.
Fat Fingers features pizza, burgers, wings and more than a dozen sandwiches called Fat-Wiches, including cheesesteaks, grilled chicken and pulled pork. The menu also has rotating daily specials.
Active military personnel get 20% off every order.
The restaurant “brings comfort food to a new level,” according to its website.
Fat Fingers did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Paisano’s Pizza closed in January due to financial problems.
Fat Fingers’ arrival was first reported by Source of the Spring, which added that a grand opening celebration is planned for Aug. 19.
The Dish & Dram starts Kensington Wine Club
Wine enthusiasts can partake in exclusive classes and shop from private wine lists with membership to the Kensington Wine Club, a program through American restaurant The Dish & Dram.
Membership is available in three-month, six-month and year-long increments for $55, $90 and $125, respectively. Couples can purchase membership for a year for $200.
Wine club participants can attend complimentary wine classes, get 10% off every bottle, receive a monthly newsletter with special events and recipe information, view a curated monthly wine list and pay extended Happy Hour prices on Wednesdays.
The Dish & Dram will soon have cabinets for members to store wine on the restaurant’s premises, and also provide club participants with early access to an Austrian wine trip in 2020.
The first 20 people to sign up will become Founding Members, and will not be subject to any increases in membership rate.
Game of Thrones charity night at Caddies
Caddies Bar and Grill in Bethesda will host a Games of Thrones-themed event on Aug, 3, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting nonprofit organization We Will Survive Cancer.
Customers can sit in a life-sized replica of the Iron Throne, enjoy a Game of Thrones cocktail list and enter a raffle for official merchandise from the show.
We Will Survive Cancer is based in Alexandria, Virginia, and raises money for organizations and individuals assisting families of cancer patients. The organization was founded in 2009, and has served more than 2,000 people in the Washington region over the past decade.
“This will be a night to remember for all the Game of Thrones fans out there, plus it’s a great opportunity to raise money for such a worthy cause,” Caddies owner Ronnie Heckman said in a statement.
