The Montgomery County Council on Tuesday unanimously confirmed Berke Attila as the county’s next human resources director.
Attila previously held a number of positions with the city of Baltimore dating to 2011, according to his resume. He most recently was the chief fiscal officer in the city’s Department of General Services.
Attila’s salary will be $190,000.
Previously Shawn Stokes was the human resources director during former County Executive Ike Leggett’s administration. Karen Plucinski is currently serving as the acting director.
Attila is the latest permanent department head within County Executive Marc Elrich’s administration that the council confirmed.
Angela Talley, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s acting director, interviewed before the council Tuesday for the permanent position. She could be confirmed at the council’s July 30 meeting.
Additionally, Aseem Kumar Nigam is scheduled to interview before the council next Tuesday to be the next housing and community affairs director.
According to the county website, the departments of public libraries, permitting services and finance currently do not have permanent directors.
