Council to discuss relocation expense bill
The Montgomery County Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday on a bill that would require landlords to compensate tenants with three months’ worth of rent for the purpose of relocating, in the event that the building is condemned by the county as unfit for human habitation. There is an exception for circumstances beyond the landlord’s control. The meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. in the council’s Rockville chamber, located at 100 Maryland Ave.
County Board of Elections to hold registration sessions targeted at people with disabilities
The Montgomery County Board of Elections will hold voter registration sessions at 15 public libraries Monday through Friday in honor of National Disability Voter Registration Week — an annual event put on by the American Association for People With Disabilities in communities around the country to increase the engagement of people with disabilities.
The board will conduct voter registration at three libraries each day according to the following schedule:

City of Rockville to commemorate new sister city relationship
The City of Rockville will commemorate its new partnership with Yilan City, Taiwan, a city of more than 95,000, on Wednesday as part of the Rockville Sister City Corporation. The partnership represents the second formal sister relationship Rockville has had in 62 years of the program. The sister cities program fosters cultural exchanges between cities across the world such as student exchange programs and business partnerships. Rockville Mayor Bridget Donnell Newton and Taiwanese officials will attend Wednesday’s ceremony, which will begin at 5 p.m. at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, located at 603 Edmonston Drive. Rockville currently has a relationship with Pinneberg, Germany.
