Dustin Thomas Rogers, 25, of Rockville, was found guilty on Friday in Montgomery County Circuit Court of raping a woman in a wooded area off of West Gude Drive in Rockville on Oct. 2, according to the state’s attorney’s office.

Rogers was arrested Oct. 3 after police say a woman was walking along the sidewalk of Rockville Pike near the intersection of West Gude Drive just before midnight. The woman told police Rogers attacked her, forced her into a wooded area and sexually assaulted her. Police say the woman eventually broke free from Rogers and ran to a nearby office building where she asked a security guard for help.

Rogers, according to state’s attorney’s office spokesman Ramon Korionoff, was found guilty of first degree rape and third degree sex offense charges on Friday. He will face sentencing Sept. 12 and could face a maximum term of life in prison. Korionoff said Associate Judge Richard Jordan will have discretion in the sentencing.
