Man dies in motorcycle crash in Gaithersburg
Jonathan Thompson, 45, of Ohio, was killed on Saturday when his motorcycle struck two street signs and part of the guardrail on the ramp from northbound Interstate 270 to westbound I-370. Witnesses said another vehicle cut off Thompson, forcing him off the highway. The ramp was closed for more than three hours after the incident. [WTOP]
Rockville residents assist in Women’s World Cup title
The U.S. women’s national team won the World Cup on Sunday, with help from county residents Rose Lavelle and Mallory Pugh. The pair are teammates on the Washington Spirit, and share an apartment in Rockville. Tennis instructor charged for alleged relationship with athlete
Claude Grady, 38, of Gaithersburg, allegedly had a sexual affair for two years with a girl he coached, who was 16 when the interactions began. The relationship lasted from 2009 to 2011, and while the victim came forward in 2012, charges were not filed at the time. [ABC7]
