Fuse Taco Closes in Bethesda

Owner cites financial issues

July 8, 2019 4:54 p.m.

Fast-casual Mexican restaurant Fuse Taco has closed after less than four months in Bethesda due to financial constraints.

The restaurant at 4903 Cordell Ave. opened in late March, featuring a rotating menu of taco recipes from around world.

Owner Kaz Kazmi said Fuse Taco was “doing pretty well” and had received plenty of positive feedback from the community, it “just needed more capital.”

Kazmi added that he faced too much pressure as the sole owner and operator of the restaurant. He also owns Indian eatery Merzi in the District.

Kazmi had planned to travel the world with a team and visit vendors and learn their recipes, which would then come to the restaurant.

The closing was first reported by MoCo Show News.
