June 27, 2019 8:56 p.m.

Employees at White Star Investments were greeted by police cars and first responders Tuesday morning after a car collided with a scooter rider, launching her into a 360-degree forward flip.

Property Manager Colleen Woodside didn’t see the crash live, but was alerted to the incident by the commotion along the 7900 block of Woodmont Avenue.

She then found video of the crash on the company’s surveillance camera system, showing a dark-colored sedan making a left into a parking garage as the scooter comes into view. The rider veers right but can’t avoid the car, smacking into the vehicle and flipping over its left headlight before landing on her back.

The unidentified scooter rider was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, a county police spokesman said in an email. The car’s driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

County police did not have an update on the scooter rider’s condition as of Thursday afternoon.
