House approves amendment telling FAA to prioritize efforts to combat airplane, helicopter noise

The House on Monday passed an amendment directing the Federal Aviation Administration to prioritize combating airplane and helicopter noise, which residents in some Bethesda neighborhoods say is increasing. [Washington Post]

Montgomery delegate leading cannabis legalization task force

Del. Kathleen Dumais, a Germantown Democrat, will co-chair a Maryland General Assembly team studying possible legalization of cannabis for adult use. Dumais said the task force will be divided into subgroups to look into factors such as public health, taxation, licensing and the inclusion of small businesses, among other topics.  [Baltimore Sun]

County nonprofit fires two directors, citing financial concerns

The Arc removed a pair of leaders from its Karasic and Family Infant and Child Care Center with CEO Chrissy Shawver citing a need for “immediate reductions.” Upset parents wrote a letter to the center stating their concerns at the firings, as well as the lack of communication.  [WUSA9]
