Off-duty officers save dog hit by car

Two off-duty Montgomery County officers helped rescue a dog who was hit by a car recently. The officers saw a woman looking for the dog and offered her a ride to help, and when they found the pup in critical condition on a road, the officers helped transport her to a vet. [WJLA]

County fire department to get new engines

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services will soon have 24 new vehicles to replace aging paramedic engines, according to the department’s spokesman. [WDVM]
