Vehicle crashes into Gaithersburg gas station
Several people were injured when a car drove into the front of a gas station on Woodfield Road in Gaithersburg Tuesday afternoon. The cause of the crash is under police investigation. [FOX5]
Chevy Chase children lead charge to save beloved neighborhood tree
A group of children in Chevy Chase is pressuring a builder to not tear down a neighborhood tree to build a new home. The children made posters and flyers and taped them to a fence surrounding the project area. Developers have agreed to reconsider. [WJLA]
Northwest High School graduate records longest triple jump in state history
A recent Northwest High School graduate recorded the longest triple jump in Maryland history last weekend. Taylor Wright’s jump at a competition in North Carolina measured 42 feet and 2.75 inches. Her jump was judged to be “wind-aided” so it will not count as an official state record, which is held by a John F. Kennedy High School graduate. [MCM]
