Pride flag replaces military flag outside county government’s Executive Office Building
The rainbow-colored Pride flag, a symbol honoring the LGBTQ community, was raised by county officials Monday in front of the County Executive Office Building in Rockville to commemorate Pride month. The flag replaced another one honoring prisoners of war and those in the military who went missing in action. A Vietnam War veteran was upset that the military flag was replaced, but Council member Evan Glass said they are working on adding more rings to the pole so that both flags can be raised. [NBC 4]
