State prison inmates still paying for tampons despite legislation
Gov. Larry Hogan signed a law in 2018 to provide a free supply of products for female prisoners by October, but the change has yet to be implemented. The Post reviewed a commissary receipt from an inmate who paid $5.69 for a box of 18 supersize tampons, while online retailers sell twice as many for that price. “This is about fundamental human dignity and access to a basic necessity,” said Sen.
