Damascus High names new athletic director

After the Montgomery School system ordered an overhaul of Damascus High School’s football coaching staff, the school announced a new athletic director Wednesday.

Clifford Elgin, formerly the assistant athletic director at Clarksburg High School, was chosen to lead the program. [Montgomery Community Media]

County garbage truck crashes, catches fire

A county garbage truck was involved in a crash Wednesday morning near Damascus and caught fire. One person sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. [WTOP]
