After participating in his second group date on “The Bachelorette,” Bethesda resident Joey Jones was eliminated Monday night during a rose ceremony.
Jones was featured in three episodes of the ABC reality dating show, which is in its 15th season, and stars former pageant title-holder Hannah Brown.
“It’s been real,” Jones told Brown as he hugged her goodbye. “I had a great time with you. Be good to these guys, alright?”
“I’ll try,” Brown responded.
Before his elimination, Brown went on a photo-shoot group date with seven other contestants. The men were told they’d be paired up with models, which, as it turned out, were pets. The shoot was themed around the animated film, “The Secret Life of Pets 2,” being released June 7.
Jones was paired with a pig. “We walked into this huge room filled with the best pets ever,” Jones said in an in-the-moment interview. “And I’m the luckiest because I get little Sally Sue here and she’s an absolute doll.”
On the preceding episode of “The Bachelorette,” Jones participated in a roller derby group date with Brown and nine other contestants.
At 33, Jones was the oldest contestant competing for 24-year-old Brown.
Jones grew up in Potomac and graduated from Georgetown Preparatory School in 2003. He received a bachelor’s degree in management, with concentrations in accounting and information systems, from Boston College in 2007.
Jones is a senior manager at Capital One, according to his LinkedIn online profile.
Two local candidates remain: Luke Stone, a political consultant from Washington, and John Paul Jones, a financial analyst from Lanham.
