The lease for Pacci’s Pizzeria in Silver Spring has been sold to the owner of coffee shop Kaldi’s Social House, according to the pizzeria owner.
Pacci’s owner Spiro Gioldasis confirmed the sale and said Kaldi’s will take over July 1.
Gioldasis is switching to strictly owner-occupied spaces at this time, and the building at 8113 Georgia Ave. was not for sale, he said.
Pacci’s Trattoria in Forest Glen will remain open, Gioldasis said. He has also purchased a building in a Capitol Hill neighborhood for an upcoming concept.
Kaldi’s owner Tsega Hailemariam could not be reached for comment.
The new restaurant will have an American-themed menu, including pizza and 50 to 60 beers on tap, according to Source of the Spring, which first reported the sale. The pizza will not be prepared using the Pacci’s wood-fired oven method.
