Pelosi clashes with Raskin, fellow Democrats over impeachment

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi clashed with several of her fellow Democrats on Capitol Hill during a closed door meeting Monday on the question of whether the House should vote to impeach President Donald Trump. Rep. Jamie Raskin, a Democrat who represents Montgomery County, said he wasn’t advocating impeachment but that opening an inquiry would strengthen the Democrats’ legal position. Pelosi responded by asking Raskin if he would “tell Elijah Cummings to go home,” referring to the Maryland Democrat who chairs the House Oversight and Reform Committee. [Politico]
