Bethesda resident and Georgetown Preparatory School alumnus Joey Jones received another rose Monday night on ABC’s “The Bachelorette.”
Jones appeared in the episode’s second group date, “The Bachelorettes Derby Dudes Derby.” The game was emceed by “The Bachelor” franchise host Chris Harrison and actor Fred Willard.
Although they were coached before the game by a roller derby team, skating proved difficult for most of the contestants, including Jones. “Immediately there were bodies flying everywhere,” Jones said in an in-the-moment interview. “Flailing all over the place.”
In the end, Jones’ team, with the help of the contestant Darren, won the game. “Darren scored, I don’t know, 18,000 points in the last round,” Jones said.
All of the men were invited to join bachelorette Hannah Brown for drinks after the game. Jones did not receive a rose at the group date, but was saved from elimination later during the rose ceremony.
The next episode of “The Bachelorette” will air 8 p.m. Monday, May 27 on ABC.
