TPC Potomac at Avenel to host 2021 PGA Tour  Wells Fargo Championship

PGA Tour golf will make a one-week return to the Washington area in two years when TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm hosts the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship, the tour announced Tuesday. [Washington Post]

Hogan signs 174 bills into law, including 911 legislation

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) signed 174 bills into law Tuesday, including a series of bills that lay out the funding process for new 9-1-1 emergency call systems, and provides for better compatibility between counties. The 9-1-1 legislation, sponsored by Montgomery Democratic Sen. Cheryl Kagan, also requires counties to notify victims if they are part of a public record that has been requested through the Public Information Act and depending on the victim’s response to the request, the county may choose whether or not to release the record. Raskin recalls colon cancer battle in pleading for Medicare-for-all

Maryland congressman Jamie Raskin, a Democrat who represents Montgomery County, pushed for Medicare-for-all legislation during a congressional hearing Tuesday. Raskin recalled his own battle with colon cancer nine years ago, saying he hopes no one has to endure “something of such an enormous psychological and family strain as that and not know where they’re going to get insurance.” [Maryland Matters]
