The body of a Montgomery County man reported missing in February was found in a Rockville-area creek bed last week, police announced Monday.
Michael Lee Higgins, 29, of the 4000 block of Sweetbirch Drive in Rockville, was last seen by his family on Feb. 25.
Maryland-National Capital Park Police and county officers were called to the 4900 block of Sweetbirch Drive on April 21 for a report of human remains found near the edge of Rock Creek Regional Park, about three miles from where a still unidentified man’s body was discovered in early February in a creek by Lake Bernard Frank.
Police spokesman Capt. Tom Jordan said there is no connection between the cases at this time.
Detectives are still investigating and do not believe foul play was involved in Higgins’ death, Jordan said. The results of an autopsy are pending.
