Dog Haus partnering with virtual kitchen group
The gourmet hot dog restaurant is joining forces with Kitchen United, committing to 25 shared locations in markets including the District, according to a company announcement.
Kitchen United has restaurant centers across the country that provide a home to operators without the need for individual brick-and-mortar locations. Each center has around 10 to 20 restaurants, many of which will now include Dog Haus concepts.
“Kitchen United’s turnkey solution enables popular restaurant brands like Dog Haus to grow by serving today’s consumer, who increasingly wants to enjoy their favorite meal outside the four walls of the restaurant,” Kitchen United Vice President of National Sales Anthony Green said in a statement. “We are thrilled to have Dog Haus partner with us as we revolutionize the off-premise experience for restaurants and their guests.”
Kitchen United focuses on the delivery or pick-up part of the food process, allowing its restaurants to concentrate on preparing quality food, according to the announcement. The partnership is expected to spread the Dog Haus brand and allow for more franchisees in new locations.
“We view our partnership with Kitchen United as not only an enormous growth opportunity for our brand, but as a way for us to stay on the cutting edge of the off-premise dining experience,” Dog Haus Co-Founder Hagop Giragossian said in a statement. “We want to be a leader in the delivery space and believe that it’s important to embrace the changes happening in this part of our industry.”
Dog Haus has a location in Bethesda, with a Gaithersburg restaurant arriving in July and potentially more on the way in the county.
Federal Realty working with Manna Food Center
The real estate group has established a partnership with the nonprofit through its Community Food Rescue program, which joins businesses with food recipient organizations to feed residents, according to a news release.
Federal Realty’s Pike & Rose and Bethesda Row properties will donate unsold food to the program, including City Perch Kitchen + Bar, BurgerFi and Poke Dojo.
“With our headquarters in Rockville and many of our properties located in Montgomery County it is fitting that Federal Realty partners with local organizations such as Manna Food Center where we can make a tangible difference,” Federal Realty Marketing Director Jill McCarthy said in a statement.
The program was launched in 2015, and has rescued and distributed more than 5 million pounds of food to its network of 70 agencies, according to the release.
Wine coming to Art Hop Arts Fest in Takoma Park
The 11th annual event will include discounted pours and a few free tastings this weekend, Main Street Takoma announced.
The festival features works from more than 100 artists in the shops, restaurants and galleries of the community, along with live outdoor music performances and meet-the-artist receptions.
Debuting this year is a $10 commemorative Art & Wine Hop glass, which can be used for wine specials at participating restaurants and during free tastings from Urban Winery, Linganore Wines and others.
Wine Wednesday at Gaithersburg Yard House
The sports bar and restaurant in the RIO Washingtonian Center announced last week it is offering half-off bottles of wine all day on Wednesdays.
Customers can also get glasses of Fat Cat Pinot Noir, Salmon Creek Chardonnay and La Perlina Moscato, among others, for $5 a glass.
The deal excludes Veuve Clicquot Champagne, Stags’ Leap Cabernet Sauvignon, The Prisoner Red Blend and Cakebread Chardonnay.
