Easter and Passover specials at Pike & Rose, Bethesda Row and Congressional Plaza
Federal Realty Investment Trust announced a variety of deals at its properties to celebrate these spring holidays.
- City Perch Kitchen + Bar – The American restaurant at Pike & Rose will host a brunch buffet and bunny rabbit photo session on Easter Sunday. The meal is $48 per person, $12 for children. The buffet will include stuffed French toast, chicken with waffles, biscuits and gravy, among other items, along with a table of homemade rolls and pastries. The Hipster Bunny will be making rounds during the meal for photos, and an Easter egg hunt will happen every hour
- Summer House Santa Monica – The American restaurant at Pike & Rose will offer an authentic Passover dinner April 19-20. For $39.95, guests can enjoy homemade gefilte fish with beet horseradish, matzo ball soup, braised beef short ribs, flourless chocolate cake and more.
- Stella Barra – The Pike & Rose pizzeria will have an unlimited Easter brunch buffet for $20.95. Entrees include enchiladas, Italian sausage hash and spicy salami pizza. Easter dinner will also be served from 2-9 p.m.
- Mon Ami Gabi – The French bistro at Bethesda Row will have an Easter brunch with crepes, Eggs Benedict and waffles, among other items. Easter dinner will begin at 3 p.m., and all children receive a sweet Easter treat.
- Sugarfina – The Bethesda Row luxury candy store will offer an Easter-inspired collection of chocolate Easter bunnies, bunny tails candies and Easter bundles.
- Georgetown Cupcake – The gourmet cupcake shop at Bethesda Row currently features an Easter Dozen collection with creations including Vanilla Confetti Easter Egg and Easter Bunny Salted Caramel.
- Matchbox – The pizza bistro at Congressional Plaza will have an unlimited brunch of small plates and cocktails on Saturday and Sunday.
County adds inventory from Michigan brewery
The Montgomery County Department of Liquor Control announced last week it would be carrying selections from Bell’s Brewery as it continues upgrading its warehouse.
“Bell’s makes great beer and we’re excited to welcome them to Montgomery County,” DLC director Bob Dorfman said in a statement.
Based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the brewery earned the American Homebrewers Association Best Beer in America award last year for its Two Hearted Ale, now available in the county’s inventory. Bell’s Amber Ale and Oberon Ale will also be available.
“This has been a long time coming,” Bell’s vice president of sales and marketing Matthew Moberly said in a statement. “… With this partnership, Bell’s beer will have fully arrived in the great state of Maryland.”
In addition to adding items, the county’s warehouse has upgraded its technology, racking methods and replaced outdated delivery trucks in the past two years, according to a DLC news release.
The Dish & Dram chef forages for new item
Chef Andrew Menger has been combing the county for about eight years to gather unique greens for his kitchen, and stinging nettles are currently in-season.
The plants are high in iron, potassium and a good source of protein, and are now available at the Kensington restaurant in its Nettle risotto dish.
Menger is currently foraging for nettles in the Great Seneca Creek area, covering a large portion of the upcounty.
Earth Day at BurgerFi
The gourmet burger shop will celebrate the planet on April 22 with $5 VegeFi Burgers and $5 Beyond Burgers.
Customers will also receive free Heinz tomato seed packets with any purchase.
In honor of the environmental holiday, BurgerFi announced it has eliminated 50 tons of single-use plastic straws and cups for its soft drinks from more than 100 locations nationwide.
The company anticipates removing eight million plastic straws and cups from its restaurants, totaling more than 100,000 pounds of plastic.
BurgerFi has locations in Silver Spring and North Bethesda.
