Silver Spring man charged with elder abuse of father

A Silver Spring man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with abusing his elderly father.

County police said that they found evidence the father had been abused multiple times. His head was cut and there was extensive bruising to his head and arms. [WTOP]

Manna Food Center to open new location

Manna Food Center will open a new distribution center next week at Gaithersburg Middle School, which will replace the daily distribution center on Gaither Road.

The food bank also has plans to open a new daily distribution center off Old Columbia Pike late this summer. [MCM]

Germantown man arrested for attempted murder

A Germantown man was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill his former intimate partner and her family after she ended their relationship.

Zain Imdad, a 28-year-old Germantown man, entered the woman’s residence and threatened she and her family with handgun, police said. Imdad informed the victim and her family that he was going to “kill everyone if the victim did not reconcile the relationship.” [WUSA9]
