Two women have come forward with claims they were sexually assaulted by a North Bethesda man and county police say they believe others might have been attacked by the same man.
Police on Friday announced Austin Blaine Vann, 29, of North Bethesda, has been arrested and charged with second-degree rape for an incident in January in the bathroom of a North Bethesda apartment building.
The 2019 attack allegedly occurred while Vann was awaiting trial following his arrest in a 2017 case where he was charged with two counts of attempted rape, two count of assault and one count of a fourth-degree sex offense.
Police said Vann used social media to contact the women and investigators are concerned there are other unreported attacks.
Vann is being held in a county detention center.
Attorney information was not available in online records as of Friday.
