County man accused of terrorist plot to run people over had studied Islamic State

Rondell Henry, a 28-year-old Germatown man who has been accused of stealing a van last with the intent to run people over at National Harbor and Dulles Airport, had studied Islamic State fighters for two years and intended to join the terrorist group, according to federal prosecutors. Authorities say he had the intent of “killing as many disbelievers as possible” in a suicide attack. Henry, who was arrested on March 28 following his theft of a U-Haul in Alexandria, Virginia and a break in to a boat at National Harbor, has been charged by federal authorities with taking a stolen vehicle across state lines, but not a terror-related county [Washington Post].
