National Guard staff sergeant from Damascus dies in collision

Dinora Aracely Flores, 33, was on Route 30 near Camp Fretterd Military Reservation when she was rear-ended by a flatbed truck Tuesday morning in Reisterstown. Her vehicle was pushed into oncoming traffic and she was struck by a tractor-trailer. Flores died of her injuries. [Baltimore Sun]

Investigation by Catholic school in Silver Spring finds racist and offensive behavior

After a student at St. Bernadette School was disciplined for sending a Snapchat image with disturbing comments, administrators looked into the issue and found instances of similar actions by seventh-grade students. In a letter to parents and students, Principal Theodore M. Ewanciw wrote the school “will not tolerate hateful, hurtful, or inappropriate speech or acts in our school community.” [Washington Post]
