Victim suffered life-threatening injuries

Updated: A pedestrian was seriously injured Tuesday morning in North Bethesda after being struck by a falling tree.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer reported emergency personnel responded to Tuckerman Lane between Old Georgetown Road and Grosvenor Lane around 9 a.m. and transported an adult with life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.

Piringer reported the incident occurred at the entrance to the Gables of Tuckerman condo complex, and witnesses said a passing truck hit an overhanging tree branch, which snapped and hit the victim.
