Two hospitalized after Rockville Fire Department vehicle strikes pedestrians
A Rockville Volunteer Fire Department vehicle struck two pedestrians Saturday night in Rockville, sending both to the hospital.
One sustained life-threatening injuries.
Police said the driver was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado and traveling eastbound on Beall Avenue “for reasons still under investigation …” [WTOP]
CVS to begin selling CBD-based products in Maryland
More than 800 CVS stores in Alabama, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland,and Tennessee will now offer CBD products, including creams, sprays and lotions.
The products contain the non-psychoactive component derived from the marijuana plant.
The company’s CEO told CNBC that the move was prompted by its customers who have used CBD products in the past and said it help with pain relief for arthritis and other ailments. [FOX 5]
Fallen tree sparks brush fire
A tree fell in the middle of the day on Davis Mill Road near Brink Road in Germantown, sparking a brush fire, according to Pete Piringer, the spokesman for the county fire and rescue service.
The tree damaged an electrical wire and transformer, believed to be the cause of the fire. [Washington Post]
