Updated: A fire at the fire station at Navy’s Bethesda medical center campus Monday morning did “significant damage” to the facility, the naval base reported.
Units from Montgomery County and Naval District Washington responded around 8 a.m. to put the fire out.
No injuries were reported, a cause is under investigation and the total damage is being assessed.
All that is known based on visual inspection is isolated areas of the firehouse were heavily damaged, a base spokesman said.
The fire station is part of the 245-acre base that includes more than 40 tenants, including Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
