Joey Jones, an alumnus of Georgetown Preparatory School and a senior manager at accounting firm EY, will compete in the upcoming season of ABC’s “The Bachelorette.”

The network released a list of contestants last week, including “Joey J.” from Bethesda.

The contestant’s sister, Bridgette Jones, confirmed her brother was cast in the 15th season of the dating show.

“We are very excited for Joey and wish him the best in this journey,” she said.  Jones is an administrative assistant at Potomac United Methodist Church.

Contestants of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” have limited to no access to phones during filming, which began this month.

Joey Jones graduated from Georgetown Prep in North Bethesda in 2003, and earned a bachelor’s in management from Boston College in 2007.

“Joey is a great guy,” said Patrick Coyle, a Georgetown Prep classmate who now works for the private school. “It’s cool he’s on the show.”

After college, Jones worked for accounting firm KPMG in Washington, D.C. before moving to the San Francisco Bay area, where he lived for three years.

He returned to the Washington area in 2016, and works for Capital One, according to his LinkedIn online profile.

At 33, Jones is the oldest contestant this season. The lead, Hannah Brown, is 24.

Three shows make up ABC’s “Bachelor” franchise: “The Bachelor,” which airs during the winter, “The Bachelorette” which airs during the spring, and “Bachelor in Paradise,” which airs during the summer. More than 8 million people watched the two-part finale of the 23rd season of “The Bachelor,” which concluded March 12.

The new season of “The Bachelorette” will premiere at 8 p.m. Monday, May 13 on ABC.
