No One Injured After Crash at Silver Spring School

Vehicle bumped wall near cafeteria, broke window

No students were nearby when a vehicle bumped into an elementary school in Silver Spring Monday morning, authorities said.

The vehicle “tapped a wall” and a broke a window near the cafeteria of Sligo Creek Elementary School, county fire and rescue services spokesman Pete Piringer said.

The wall was breached, but no one was inside that part of the building at the time, Piringer said.

The driver was not injured. The cause of the crash hasn’t been determined, Piringer said.

The school at 500 Schuyler Road has 696 students enrolled in full-day kindergarten up to fifth grade.
