Police Blotter: Arrests in Bethesda Residential Burglaries; Ride Share Driver Robbed in Silver Spring

Bethesda

Thefts from vehicles

Parts were taken from a vehicle in the 1700 block of East West Highway between 4:45 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. Feb. 11. Forced entry was reported.

Property was taken from a vehicle in the 7700 block of Woodmont Avenue between 1:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Feb. 11. Forced entry was reported.

Cash, property and vehicle parts were taken from three vehicles in the 11600 to 11700 blocks of Old Georgetown Road between Feb. 10 and 12. Forced entry was reported.

Strong-arm robbery

Two suspects assaulted a male victim and took his property in the 1900 block of East West Highway at 11:50 p.m. Feb. 18.

Police arrested two suspects for taking property from two residences. The first theft occurred at a residence in the 6400 block of West Halbert Road between 9:55 a.m. and 11:25 a.m. Feb. 12. The suspects also took property from the shed at the residence. The second theft occurred at a residence in the 6600 block of Rannoch Court at 11:32 a.m. Feb. 14. Forced entry was reported in both incidents.

Rockville

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and property were taken from three vehicles during the reporting period. One theft occurred in the 16200 block of Decker Place and two in the 8000 block of Gramercy Boulevard. Forced entry was reported in one event.

Police arrested a suspect trying to burglarize United Gun Shop, 5465 Randolph Road, the morning of Feb. 12.

Residential burglary

Cash was taken from a residence in the 5900 block of Ridgway Avenue between 9 a.m. and 3:55 p.m. Feb. 13. Forced entry was reported.

Silver Spring

Thefts from vehicles

Property was taken from multiple vehicles during the reporting period, included on East West Highway, Colesville Road, Fenton Street, Thayer Avenue and Ellsworth Drive. Forced entry was reported in multiple thefts.

Cash and property were taken from three vehicles between Feb. 10 and Feb. 15. Thefts occurred on Devere, Brock and Southampton drives. No forced entry was reported.

Property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Feb. 12 and Feb. 15. Thefts occurred on Castle Boulevard, Autumn Glen Circle, Tazewell Terrace, Colgate Way and Lamberton Square Road.

Theft and aggravated assault

A suspect stole merchandise from Five Below shop in Ellsworth Place mall at 8661 Colesville Road at 3:52 p.m. Feb. 12. When security approached the suspect, he displayed a weapon. The suspect was arrested.

Commercial burglaries

Property was taken from a construction site at 8252 Georgia Ave. the morning of Feb. 10. Forced entry was not reported. Police arrested two suspects.

Property was taken from a maintenance storage room of Montgomery Arms Apartments at 8712 Colesville Road between 5 p.m. Feb. 13 and 6:45 a.m. Feb. 14. Forced entry was reported.

Cash and merchandise were taken from Prime Beer & Wine at 12842 New Hampshire Ave. at 5:30 a.m. Feb. 12. Forced entry was reported.

Armed robbery

Cash and property were taken from a ride share driver in the 12800 block of Hawkshead Terrace at 3:50 p.m. Feb. 12. The suspect displayed a weapon.

Residential burglaries

Property was taken from a residence in the 1400 block of East West Highway between 11 p.m. Feb. 15 and 7 a.m. Feb. 16. No forced entry was reported. A door was reportedly possibly left unlocked.

Property was taken from a residence in the 9500 block of Clement Road between 9:15 a.m. and 5:44 p.m. Feb. 13. Forced entry was reported.

Property was taken from a residence in the 9300 block of Wilmer Street between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 13. Forced entry was reported.

Property was taken from a residence in the 10400 block of Naglee Road between 9:30 a.m. Feb. 13 and 10 a.m. Feb. 14. Forced entry was reported.

Property was taken from a residence in the 10200 block of Edgewood Avenue between 3 p.m. Feb. 9 and 5:30 a.m. Feb. 10. No forced entry was reported, the garage door was reportedly left open. Property was also taken from a vehicle at the residence.
