Updated Tuesday: A week after a man’s body was found hidden near a Bethesda bus stop, county detectives have released his name.
Francisco De La O De La Cruz, 25, was found Feb. 25 covered by a tarp or trash bag in the 10000 block of Old Georgetown Road near Lone Oak Drive, police said.
Police were unable to confirm his address.
Detectives released photos of De La Cruz on Tuesday.
Now that De La Cruz has been identified, investigators can begin to examine his movements and construct a timeline of what has been classified as a homicide, police spokesman Rick Goodale said.
Police are still working to determine how he was killed, Goodale said.
In an effort to get more information, police released photos of De La Cruz’s tattoos and clothing last week, describing him as a Hispanic male between 20 and 30 years old.
The investigation is ongoing.
