Authorities said Tuesday afternoon that the death of a man whose body was found hidden near a bus stop in Bethesda Monday night has been ruled a homicide.
The man’s remains were covered by a tarp or trash bag in the 10000 block of Old Georgetown Road near Lone Oak Drive, a wooded stretch of three-lane highway on a corner across from the Ratner Museum, county police said.
The state medical examiner’s office, which conducted an autopsy, classified the death as a homicide.
Police said a citizen found the body behind a bus stop at around 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
Detectives do not believe the killing happened where the body was found and police did not release additional information.
County police have investigated four homicides this year.
