School board to discuss relocatable classrooms at meeting Monday

Montgomery County Board of Education is scheduled to hold a work session at its meeting Monday on a $5 million request to the Montgomery County Council and county executive for relocatable classrooms during the 2019-2020 school year, which would accommodate student population changes. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the Carver Educational Services Center in Rockville.

County Council to discuss lead standards at meeting Tuesday

The Montgomery County Council is scheduled to discuss a bill, sponsored by Council member Tom Hucker, that would require stricter standards for the amount of lead allowed in school water. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the council chambers in Rockville.

County Council to hold public hearing on accessory dwelling units Tuesday

The Montgomery County Council will hold a public hearing on a bill, sponsored by Council member Hans Riemer, that would increase the number of accessory dwelling units in the county, otherwise known as in-law apartments. The hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers in Rockville.

Rockville City Council interviews to be held Saturday

The Rockville City Council will conduct interviews with candidates who applied for the vacancy on the City Council on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the council chamber building. The vacancy was created due to the departure of Julie Palakovich Carr in November, who was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates. The candidate selected by the council will serve the remainder of Palakovich Carr’s term, until the next election is held Nov. 5.
