Caretaker sentenced for repeatedly beating autistic man

Fabrice Yantou allegedly attacked the patient while working at a Montgomery Village group home, according to court case. He would knee him in the back or punch him in the stomach as a punishment for misbehavior. Yantou received seven years in prison. [Fox 5]

Former county employer, convicted embezzler to be sentenced Friday

Byung Il “Peter” Bang stole more than $6.7 million while serving as the top official in the county’s economic development department. Bang could be sentenced to up to 23 years in prison, though the current recommendation is five years. [Washington Post]

Germantown Topgolf for sale

Property owner Matan Cos. has decided to sell the Interstate 270 parcel after receiving ample interest. The golf entertainment venue is expected to open later this year, but the 11-acre property is expected to have a new owner by then. Matan Managing Partner Mark Matan said the parcel doesn’t match the rest of the company’s portfolio, which focuses largely on offices and industrial space. [Business Journal]
