A man was seriously injured after falling from an atrium walkway inside the Bethesda Hyatt Regency Tuesday afternoon and police are labeling the matter an attempted suicide.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to the hotel at Bethesda Metro Center around 2:40 p.m., spokesman Pete Piringer reported. The man suffered severe trauma and was taken to a local hospital.
Piringer reported the man fell from inside the main atrium of the hotel, though it wasn’t known how far he fell.
Police declined to provide the man’s name or other information.
Hotel staff did not allow reporters or camera crews inside the hotel shortly after the incident.
The Bethesda Hyatt Regency did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
