Weekend Events: Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival in Rockville; Dicken’s Davy Copperfield at Imagination Stage

Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival—Friday through Sunday—Hilton Hotel and Executive Meeting Center, Rockville
The 10th annual Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival takes place this weekend. 50 artists will perform across six stages, including jazz violinist Regina Carter and the Branford Marsalis Quartet. Weekend passes are $225. Single show tickets are also available for purchase.

Gregory Porter—Friday night—The Music Center at Strathmore, North Bethesda
Singer songwriter Gregory Porter will perform songs from Nat King Cole’s catalogue. The R&B and jazz artist won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album in 2014 and 2017. The performance begins at 8 p.m.; tickets start at $58.

Dicken’s Davy Copperfield—Saturday—Imagination Stage, Bethesda
The children’s play is adapted from Charles Dicken’s semi-autobiographical novel David Copperfield. The play follows Davy Copperfield in his work and school life in 19th century England. There are performances Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Tickets start at $17.

BSO Music Box: All Aboard—Saturday morning—AMP by Strathmore, North Bethesda
The 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. concerts will feature BSO musicians performing accessible classical music and children’s songs. There will be family-friendly activities starting 30 minutes prior to each show. Tickets are $12.
