County police are looking for help in identifying the man found dead in Rock Creek Park near Rockville earlier this month.

Detectives released photographs on Tuesday of two items found on the body: a Timex watch with a brown band and a plastic ghost ring.

Police hope someone will recognize the items and call them.

Multiple fingerprint checks have turned up little for police, Capt. Tom Jordan said, prompting the release of the photographs.

Police said the white man is around 6 feet, 3 inches tall weighed about 250 pounds. They did not provide an estimate of his age.

Officers responded to a call on Feb. 2 about a body in a creek near Lake Bernard Frank near Trailway Drive, believed to have been there for at least a day or two. Police have not said who found the body.

Results from a state coroner’s autopsy are pending, but police do not suspect foul play and there were no signs of trauma on the man’s body.

Jordan said the case isn’t believed to be related to any active missing person reports.
