“The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” – Friday – F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, Rockville

Rockville Little Theatre presents John Bishop’s comedy spoofing murder-mystery movies from the 1940s. 8 p.m. Tickets $20 to $22.

Mozart Symphony No. 40 – Saturday – The Music Center at Strathmore, North Bethesda

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra presents the classic with violinist Paul Huang, winner of the 2017 Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists, performing Aram Khachaturian’s 1940 violin concerto. 8 p.m. Tickets $35 to $90.

Huckleberry Finn’s “Big River” – Opens Saturday – Adventure Theatre, Glen Echo Park

Adventure Theatre’s co-production with The Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma of “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” based on the Mark Twain classic novel and play. Runs until March 10. Opening night includes a panel discussion. 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Black History Month Family Day – Sunday – Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park, Sandy Spring

Presentations and activities featuring African-America culture, history and contemporary events. Noon to 2 p.m. Tickets are $3.

Love Canon – Saturday – BlackRock Center for the Arts, Germantown

The band Love Canon, known for acoustic and roots music, plays electronic-tinged pop hits from the 1980s and 90s. 8 p.m., doors open at 7:30. Tickets $25 to $45.

“Anatole: Mouse Magnifique” – Sunday – Imagination Stage, Bethesda

A whimsical musical featuring the adventures of Anatole, a cheese-tasting mouse. Runs until March 24. Ages 4 and up. Tickets $15 to $35.

Making Maple Syrup – Saturday and Sunday — Brookside Nature Center, Silver Spring

Demonstrations on the craft of making traditional American maple syrup are being held weekends and Thursdays in February. Pre-registration encouraged for the eight daily half hour family-friendly programs. Weekend sessions start at 10 a.m. Cost is $7.
